The nose hits a series of notes starting with brine, green apple, apricot, and bartlett pear, and than transitions to vanilla, grapefruit, and honey. Swishing the glencairn results in the glass being coated.....this girl has legs!!!
The first taste was very full bodied - vanilla, citrus ( almost marmalaide) in sweetness, honey, smoke, and brine. The wine finish is very apparent in this offering and creates complexity. First taste - exceptional. Going in deeper, second and third sips result in the palate to become supersaturated in sugars with the palate and teeth feeling furry. The finish is very long and extremely satisfying. There is so much going on....sea spray, vanilla, honey, citrus, and some notes of clove and cardamon. Remarkable.
