Johnnie Walker Black Label
Blended — Scotland

I had a bad experience with the Red Label, but the cheap price and the recommendation of this site pushed me to take a leap. And it was worth it, the mix of Caol Ila, Talisker and a bewildering array of other single malts works. And the grain and peat are matched perfectly.

(but I prefer strong peat)
@Slàinte Mhath yes, that's true, but I do like light peated whiskys too. Yes, the grain is very smooth, I think it works very well with the sherry cask too. Of course I must admit, the sherry cask doesn't offer the same sherried complexity as with Redbreast 12 Year Old, Dalwhinnie 15 Year, Michel Couvreur Clearach, Compass Box Great King Street Glasgow Blend, but it offers a very subtle, soft sweetness that I can't help but enjoy.
The peat smoke could have been a bit stronger - but I guess that's what the 'Double Black' is intended for. You are right about the grain whisky: it's less aggressive and actually contributing to the blend.
