Tried this for the first time last night - my first single malt. Quite liked it. Not sure if I was tasting smokiness, but definitely a lingering on my palate that reminded me of bacon or other smoked meats. Rather pleasant, a little bite at first, but no harshness. Flavor stayed a while, but no burn on the aftertaste. Seemed to get a tad bit sweeter as time went on. Will definitely try again - if this is indicative of highland and/or speyside malts, I think I'll have to try some more.
