VERY good whisky. Visually, I was surprised by how light its caramel color is - I was wholly unprepared. Think yellow rather than amber. On the nose, the peat is surprisingly subtle with sweet hints of citrus. The palate is medium-bodied with an added layer of smoke (I swear I can taste bacon). The finish is fairly smooth and long. All in all, a wonderful scotch and probably the first bottle I would recommend to someone introducing themselves to the Islay region.
