Nose - Bright crisp malt, freshly dried hay, crisp apples, watered down clover honey, hint of salt.
Taste - Clean and crisp honeyed apples, lightly bitter apple peels but not off-putting, hint of light oaky vanilla cinnamon spice, very light salt.
Finish - Lingering apple peel sweet/bitter, watered down honey apple juice, no trace of salt, but a tiny bit of ash at the very very end.
Score - 75/100
Final Thoughts - Not a bad dram of Scotch, reminds me a bit of Glenmorangie Original 10, but the bitterness isn't as off-putting. Very crisp on the nose and palate, possibly the hint of salt balances out the bitterness. I can see this being a good intro Scotch for people as it does taste quite well balanced and doesn't have any characteristics that I can see would be offensive to anyone.
