Mellow combination of sweet peat, olive brine, and pipe tobacco on the nose. Sweet taste of pears makes its way into the palate, only to be counterbalanced with campfire smoke and sea salt. The finish is smooth and gently spiced. Really hard to keep my hands off this stuff!

If we must compare the 10-year vs 15-year, the latter is obviously less intense. However, the peat, brine and campfire smoke characteristic to Islay malts are firmly present. So, there is no identity crisis here. Furthermore, the dram is rich in flavour and smooth in its delivery, so I really don't feel like I'm getting short-changed for paying more for a less intense product. I also wouldn't mind owning both :)
I think its because its partially because it's twice the price as the 10 and what people love about 10, the bitter iodined intensity is diminished. I like the 15 but prefer the 10
I don't get why it's such a polarizing expression. I love it.
