82? Come on you guys! This whisky deserves more than 82! It's very good, and quite complex. The nose has wonderful notes of apricot, caramel and smoke(!). And though the body is a little lighter than I usually prefer, the finish is outstanding (a great closer). It's a hard to come by bottle, but definitely worth buying.

@Slainte-Mhath Yikes! The things we do for the bottles we love... 😏
@Joe_C It was a bit tricky to get that bottle home - when I bought it, it was already open (1 dram gone), and I had to secure the bottle in my baggage. First thing which happened at home was that the damned cork broke, and I had a lot of fun to remove the remains. Anyway, a great whisky.
@Slainte-Mhath great acquisition!
@Joe_C I got my bottle at a festival in the Netherlands.
@Slainte-Mhath you picked one up in the UK?
@Joe_C You are absolutely right about the Distiller score. The elemental problem with these 'expert scores' is that every expert seems to have a different understanding of what a certain score actually means. One experts 82 will equal another experts 88, so this whole approach seems to lack in comparability. Here, the expert review is pretty positive, and yet the score is only 82. Without context and explanation, these numbers don't mean a lot.
I thought this was way better as well. Good review.
