I'm revisiting this now that I've had some time to develop a palate for whiskey. Sweet? Soft? We must have a different drink here- it's very astringent, woody, and alcoholic, and not in a complex and enjoyable way. More of a mouth-numbing way. There is, in fact, an underlying sweet character, but it's very difficult to pick out. But to its credit, the finish is rather easygoing, if not bitter on the tongue. Crown makes pleasant offerings but this is not one of them.

@DevilBeats I have already contacted you!!
@jake theo I'd like that! Hit me up on SoundCloud, my page is audio_anomaly
@DevilBeats well I'd like to recommend stuff privately and talk more... Sadly there isn't any private chat system here. I guess sharing my Google+ or my Soundcloud would be the best way to give you access without letting strangers into my private pages (I don't want more weird accounts bothering me on Facebook...)
@DevilBeats Drinking Canadian whisky is a clue, I visited Canada and finding Canadian whisky in Montreal was tough!! XD In fact Crown Royal and Pike Creek are pretty recent in France and if it's not in France, it probably isn't in Europe... And I was quick off the mark to purchase them. (I drink whisky... and the price of whisky is my reason to drink... I don't know why I do this to myself...) I am 21! So you are older!! As for Bastille, that's hard to find in France actually!! XD Many amazing French whiskys are not on Distiller.com sadly but I'm glad you like Japanese and Scottish whisky.
@jake theo American and 22, that's me! Also thank you, I actually drew it myself. I'm big on Japanese and Scotch whiskies, but the only French one I've tried is Bastille- which was actually pretty good, I should explore those further.
@DevilBeats I am guessing you are young and American! I feel pretty much alone in the under 25 years old category on this website! XD Nice profile picture by the way!
@DevilBeats Many whiskys drunk and reviewed by Americans are described as "soft" and "sweet"... So I generally take reviews with a pinch of salt on Distiller. You might want to look into European (Scottish and French especially) and Japanese whiskys, they are generally softer, sweeter, but can also be extremely blunt.
