Very strong and nutty nose. Spiced and candied Macintosh apples. The palate contains loads of cinnamon and a juicy burst of orange. The finish is long and red hot, with lingering oak. Addition of water mulls the spice and rounds out the whisky. The flavor profile becomes predominantly orange. It sort of tastes like an old fashioned. Mild vanilla arrives in the background. The nose becomes more fragrant, and the finish smooth and sweet. Not too sure where I stand on this whiskey. I can see it for what it is, but inevitably I have a bias.
