Nose: out of the gate, you’re greeted by a bold, meaty brisket smoke and some peatiness. Saltiness and brine rise to join the aroma. Underneath all that intensity, a mellow lemon and honey lie waiting to be uncovered.
Palate: very intense at first, but it opens up on the second sip. Gentle honey and malt sweetness at the front heat up to intense smoke. Finish is long, meaty, and Smokey: brisket, peat, and sea salt.
The dram is a rich caramel color and a medium-heavy bodied whisky.
A perfect Islay whisky. A perfect single malt.
