Yeah... So this is awkward - I hate being the contrarian, but what a cosmic disappointment. It's an Ardbeg, so it's obviously not a failure, but it ain't Miss Universe either.
Grassy notes with lemons and sweet smoke. Some seaweed here, some brine there, and an oily mouthfeel I can't complain about.
I think my problem is the harmony. It's lacking. All the flavor notes are like accomplished soloists, but as a choir... It's not working.
If the Ardbeg 10 is Boyz II men, the An Oa is All-4-One. I swear.

Yeah its the lemony taste which I have really grown to dislike in the 10 is prevalent in this one. Arbeg really has a split personality when it comes to its range. Some have this flavour profile the rest the non lemony one I like e.g. uggie, kekpie
Hahah!! By the moon and the stars and the sun. Great review!
I just dropped this bottle from an online order that was holding up the shipping. So, apparently it’s quite popular to the regular scotch buying public. But, it seems like I’m not going to be missing much. So, there’s that. Great review btw. Cheers.
Brilliant musical analogy. Agreed. As a huge Supernova, Corryvreckan, and Uigeadail fan, I felt the whole here did not reflect the sum of its parts.
I laughed - I'll admit it! Thinking this is a good one for me to try before I shell out for a bottle.
That was a nice hilarious review! =D
Personally, I liked it, but I also got the feeling they're trying to aim for a new customer base with this
Hahahaha. Nice final diss. I agree about the an ao. It’s obviously the least interesting of the four core range expressions.
