Nose: The nose is sweet with corn but the higher alcohol content makes it a bit more punchy. Pine notes are present with some wildflowers and hay to compliment the aroma.
Taste: At first sip one realizes this is a fighter of a bourbon. The high rye and alcohol content adds its spice to the mix making the sweetness well rounded and a bit more aggressive. Oaky notes with honey and caramel greet you warmly and the long grapefruit bitter and spicy finish send you home with a firm handshake.
Opinion: This is a great bourbon that has some complexity to it and doesn't let you walk all over it. I took this bourbon camping with me once in a flask and it was a nice compliment to the fire and the starlit night! Cheers!
