Maltnation

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA

Reviewed July 29, 2018 (edited October 22, 2018)

4.0 out of 5 stars
An extremely good whiskey for the price. The bottling I'm trying was picked by Master Distiller Brent Elliott and was only available at the distillery. It is a lovely chocolate covered cherry bomb. Very little oak, but some nice toffee notes. Not a complex offering but very enjoyable.

I really like the small batch as well.

@RJMiltown It's just OBSV, but instead of the team, it was personally picked by Brent.

    Which mashbill did you enjoy?

Welcome back :-). I stopped following you as you dropped off a cliff for nearly a year. Refollowing and looking forward to distillery updates!

Printzhof & Holm, possibly a bit stuffy. Printzhof is to honor the first woman to be a licensed distiller in America, Armegot Printz A Swede, who owned a house called Printzhof. Holm because we are loced in Stockholm. Holm means islet in Swedish.

@MashtunMike good to hear! What’s your distillery called?

Not there yet, but getting closer. Have two partners and the project has grown considerably. Also, started a yeast company. 😀

@MashtunMike - good to hear from you. Are you banging out new-make yet?
