Color a pleasant pale gold.
Nose is beautifully soft and slightly fruity, sweet.
Palate starts a little juicy and sweet, some soft cereal oat like flavors build up to a faint spice. Dries out pretty quick, very crisp. Tapers back down to a faint smokiness, with a faint honey like sweetness. Slightly floral overall.
Finish isn’t very long, but leaves a subtle and pleasant sweet and Smokey flavor in the back of your mouth.
Exceptional single malt. I probably prefer this to the Hakushu 12 but really enjoy them both. Having similarities but find the Hakushu more peaty and smoky and the Yama more floral and sweet overall.
