I cant believe I am giving a 5 star rating. It usually takes a lot for a four star rating but this bottle is...simply one of the best I have ever had.
A strong oak nose with the cleanest palate and finish of any bottle to date, hardly a burn but still warm to the throat. Impressive...most impressive. Its a sneaky slight of hand in a bottle. Half way through I find myself listening to baroque music and contemplating philosophical ideas. An intellectual companion and a smooth operator. This is Bill Clintons saxophone fighting Steve Martin with a Banjo... in a bottle. Don’t judge me. The force is strong with this bottle. 4.5/5

I had a 2010 about six months ago that was good but not great. I just came across a dusty 2007 and it is leaps and bounds better than the 2010. It is nearly 9 years old vs 7.5 years for the 2010. I wholeheartedly agree on the 5 star rating for the 2007.
I can see that in different bottles. I seem to be lucky enough to find one of the better years. This was a 2015 bottling of a 2007 barrel.
The first one I had a few years ago had 5!potential. Then, I’ve had two the past two years that didn’t live up to the first bottle. I think it’s a case of catching the right batch. When you do it’s spectacular for sure. And a great price.
