MountainRoot
Axe and the Oak Colorado Mountain Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — Colorado , USA

Nose: The nose is sweet, corn notes and candy corn with a floral bouquet that marks this as a very approachable bourbon.
Taste: The taste has a slightly stronger kick due to the higher alcohol content, but is sweet with caramel, vanilla, red cherries, and honey land on your pallet. It has a fresh almost minty finish.
Opinion: This is a great whiskey. It's definitely a bourbon to have on your wish list, I think it's worth trying! If you live in or near Colorado Springs and don't want a whole bottle, the distillery and whiskey house are for sure worth visiting too! (Get the "Tobacco Old Fashioned"!) Cheers!

@Scott_E haha from what I've had, I really like them! I hope you get around to trying some!
@MountainRoot @PBMichiganWolverine I have not really gone out of my to try Colorado whiskies but I may have to start. The is a good buzz (no pun intended) around the Colorado and Washington distillers.
@MountainRoot I literally just bought back the 291 from my last business trip. Looking forward to trying it.
"@PBMichiganWolverine I'm impressed too! It very well could be the mountain water is a contributing factor @Scott_E but there are many distilleries around doing cool things! I really want to try Woody Creek Rye! I also want to try 291's Colorado Rye, it's not on Distiller, but it's winning awards out the wazoo!"
@PBMichiganWolverine LOL!
@Scott_E. You got a good point. Could be. Or the freely available marijuana...
Could the water be a major factor? Just wondering
@MountainRoot I’m impressed how many good local distilleries there are in CO. I just got back from Westminster...got to try 2 pretty good CO only ones ( woody creek rye was a standout )
