Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed

On the nose this comes off as a slightly more complex (due to the port finish I can only assume) bourbon but nothing extremely impressive. You get the slight oak, sweet (very sweet), and a bit of caramel and maple if you really try for it. Of course, the typical bourbon "nail polish remover" smell is present.
On the palate you are greeted immediately by oak, spices, and sweet yet dark chocolate. If you were to add a bit more sugar to a 72% cacao bar I think that would replicate it well. Oak lingers on the palate for a few moments (longer than most bourbons) and remains sweet throughout the whole experience.
Overall it is one of my favorite bourbons. I am very picky on bourbon i may note but angels envy has made itself welcome on my shelf.
