Nose- That classic Buffalo Trace dry green apple with tobacco sweetness.
Body- Burnt brown sugar and a hint of green apple, less pronounced than with Rock Hill Farms but certainly there. There is also something else there, an earthy sweetness like leather.
Finish- That leather sweetness gives way to cinnamon, black pepper and mostly uniquely an earthy/bitter sweetness that reminds me of walnuts.
Note- Another top bourbon for me. I love that sweet dry green apple! The body and finish are much lighter than RHF and E H Taylor. I need to be in the mood for this one, but when I am, it is excellent. The earthy leather/ walnut note makes this whiskey taste old. By that I do not mean mellow, smooth, etc. I mean it tastes like it has been sitting and waiting.
