4 stars because I'm getting a good dram at $43 USD for a liter. A little pricier and I'd 3 star it.
It's definitely dark, but intense? Nah. It's barely peated, with sherry notes abundant. The 40% ABV is palpable on the body: there's no weight to this whisky on the tongue. Throughout there are notes of orange peel and cinnamon.
Good whisky for the price point. More importantly, where else will you find an age stated scotch at that price? Only in a time machine.
Slainte!

@Soba45 LOL smart move
@Soba45 you’re an IT PM? One of the departments I manage is PMO.
@Joe_C Sounds painful! I stick to IT projects... computers are simpler than people :-)
@Soba45 I'm in labour relations and been dealing with a major labour dispute. Unions... 🤦🏽♂️
Sounds interesting? What type of Project (I'm a Project Manager) :-)
@PBMichiganWolverine LOL, I actually have 88 samples I have to go through and review. I'll be posting in batches in a month or two. 😏
@Soba45 I'm been overwhelmed with a project all year. 😞
@Soba45 @Joe_C does batches...he’ll take a hiatus for a few weeks, then come back and post 50 at once 🙂
Good review. I was wondering where you had got to, hadn't seen anything pop up for a couple of months :-)
@Generously_Paul Imma look for it. Thanks.
If you want a cheap aged scotch look for Tomatin. Good stuff and the 12 is usually under $40
