The harsh flavors I usually apply to Japanese whiskies are a little more muted here, but they might be harder to taste becaues of the black pepper I had is all. Its richer and smoother than I remember, actually rather enjoyable. A bit of burn after it goes down, certainly lighter than most of the things I drink. Mostly barley flavors, maybe some light wood.
