Tasted Neat.
Aroma of honey, oak, light spice, red apple, and a touch of leather, must, and alcohol. Taste is similar. Starting with honey, butterscotch and barrel. Middle spice is dominated with red hot cinnamon, but not harshly. Oak tannins and saccharine linger through the medium long finish. Overall, pretty smooth after resting and gets better after opening
Vs the 12 year, the oak, smoke, and barrel are definitely subdued, yet this still remains a solid bourbon. Not the sleeper value that it once was, but drinkable for newbies and the snobs. A must try for everyone and a solid choice for a daily sipper or for parties, though there are a lot of solid choices in this price range

@MasterMooch97 Buffalo Trace is a pretty low rye bourbon, and so is this..I think it's definitely worth a try for you. Also consider Evan Williams Single Barrel, which is the same recipe with a better barrel, but less proof
@ItsSteve I just finished Four roses small batch and I'm not impressed. Buffalo Trace on the other hand is worth every penny in my mind but thank you guys for the input.
@MasterMooch97 All those that @Milliardo are solid and I'd choose those over this as well. I'd also say Woodford Reserve as I can get it for the same price, maybe even 1792
@MasterMooch97 For my $30 I’d reach for Four Roses Small Batch, Wild Turkey 101, Buffalo Trace, or Eagle Rare before this.
I find myself wishing on every sip for that must to go away!
what would you recommend as an alternative to this?
