Knappogue Castle 12 Year Bourbon Cask Matured
Single Malt — Ireland

This is a really solid whisky. Nose is honey, orchard fruits and barrel spice. Some vanilla I believe as well. My first impression on the palate is surprising because I expected it to be a thin mild Irish whisky at just 40% abv. It has a medium mouth feel and full flavor of sweet honey, vanilla, some apple in the background, barrel spice. A slight bitter note on the finish but not that off putting. Not bad at all.

Spot on review. I'm a fan of this whiskey and "solid" doesn't oversell it.
@Whiskey_Hound Agreed. The 14 is a solid Irish and can be found for a reasonable amount. Under the radar Irish Whiskey (Knappogue)
@Whiskey_Hound thanks I’ll keep a look out for the 14.
Knappogue Castle is one of my favorite distilleries. If you like this one, the 14 year is even better for only a few extra bucks. Nice review!
