Made in NC from a wheated mash bill. You get typical corn sweetness, butterscotch, caramel, lots of oak. Thick and clingy mouthfeel. This is surprisingly good considering the age. You can tell that this is young, but every batch gets better. The quality is definitely there.

@Ancient33w it’s a great family run distillery, and every bottle gets a little better.
Great review. I have had a bottle for a good while I picked up in Fayetteville, NC while working at Ft. Bragg. I will post a review about it soon.
@BDanner they have good pricing, friendly staff, great selection and killer Burgers to boot!
@dubz480 I’ll have to add the Cowbell to my wishlist of whiskey bars to visit.
@BDanner cool man. I definitely have had some bad ones! I do travel to Charlotte about every 2 months or so. Love Cowbell Whiskey Bar, they typically let me taste anything before pour!
@dubz480 excellent! Glad you enjoyed it. It is something I always keep in my cabinet. I am always afraid that I rate the local craft stuff a little too high because I want it to be good. If you travel to NC much and you would like me to tell you NC craft spirits to avoid, I could let you know that, but not in a public forum. Cheers!
@BDanner I actually did have that the last time I was in Charlotte. I enjoyed that one, good call!
@BDanner I added Rua to my wish list since seeing your review of it. But I guess it is not greatly available overseas.
@dubz480 Only available in NC (as far as I know) so definitely give it a try. Try RÜA Single Malt made in Charlotte as well.
Will have to give this a try next time I am in Charlotte!
