The Irishman 12 Year Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed

N: Rounded aromas of cocoa, maple, a bit of dark fruit and barrel char.
P: Peaches and cream. Later there is mint, pepper, and some astringent fruit notes like honeydew melon. Like a bright vibrant summer salad but not overly sweet.
Medium finish. The peach and pepper linger.
This is the best Irish whisky I've had. One that belies Irish whisky's little brother status to Scotland's single malts. This will have permanent residence on my shelf now.

If you like this definitely need to try the Redbreast range if you haven't already 12, 15 etc
@1901 It's something I've tried to be aware of more when I buy. Given how many whiskies are sourced in the U.S. especially in the "craft" distiller space, it makes me wonder that if 5-10 year from now when some of them are actually producing their own distillate and not sourcing it, will I still like them the same? We'll see. But regardless of the provenance, this one has become one of my favorites.
Good review @tylerss20 You seem to have enjoyed it more than I did but it’s a nice whiskey for sure. The brand owners (Walsh) built a new distillery a couple of years back and are no doubt cooking their own juice for this and other releases. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do.
