Campfire and a hint of brine on the nose, with some mild fruity notes. There is no hiding that this is the quientesential Isaly scotch once it hits your mouth. The smoke is thick, and the peat is front and center, but this is so much more than just that. A few drops of water bring out an amazing complexity that I didn't expect. I understand why this was selected as the Classic Malt of Islay
