Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed

My biggest disappointment until now. I saw that it got the score of 93 on whisky advocate site and run to by a bottle to taste. I am a fun of Glenmorangie. The Nectar d'or and Bacalta (which are underscored on advocate) are ones of my favorites. But this one...! Ugh... Hardly believe that it is 10yo. It feels like apricot juice mixed with vodka. I simply don't understand why it is so highly reviewed. Starting to suspect that either something wrong with my bottle or there is a big degradation in the newest release - the box has renovated design - different from what I used to know.

@leonidsh Good luck with your journey :) One that surprised me recently was Glenscotia 15, an absolute gem. Cheers!
@SteveMalco Hey, thanks for your comment! I was also very surprised by my feelings. Although I don't think that I will buy it again, I will give it another try on occasion. I don't say it is a bad whisky - just think it is not mine. I am pretty fan of Glenmorangie in general. Lasanta was my first single malt and Nectar d'or is still one of my favorite together with Bacalta. Also, a bottle of Astar is in my bar waiting to good event to be opened. I am pretty OK with that some expressions doesn't go good like others - it's a big journey and there are lot of others yet to try! But I really appreciate your comment!
Hey, I just recently got a bottle of this and although it’s gentle, the quality is great and taste is sweet and clean with almost no negative young alcohol notes. Perhaps something went wrong with your bottle? Not sure but it’s an amazing malt for the price range. Could be worth trying again one day to see if it was a dud. Cheers :)
