Doing a flight of Blanton's, Noah's Mill, and Willett Pot Still Reserve at Trifecta on 3rd in Austin.
All 3 have a similar color.
Noses: the Noah's Mill has the softest nose of the 3. Spice predominant across them, with the Blanton's having more apple notes. Willett has more spice notes than the others.
Blanton's: Caramel up front. Sweeter and smoother than the others. Butterscotch notes 3/4 the way through. Exceptionally smooth and consistent throughout.
Willett: Spice theme continues. Sharp and full. Pepper notes. A lot of activity down the centerline of my tongue. I'm trying to name what I'm talking but am at a loss for words. It's a more narrow flavor profile than the Blanton's. More similar to the Noah's Mill, which dances the sides of my tongue and the back roof of my mouth. The Willett is almost a dash of spearmint right up front.a
None of these are overly oaky or smokey. Good neat sippers.
