After a couple of years on Distiller, I feel obliged to finally share my own personal rating system. A consideration I have noticed others doing in their bios.
⭐️ - Ostentatiously completing the crossword on a crowded commuter train, but with mostly incorrect answers that somehow fit
⭐️⭐️ - A busker playing Wonderwall
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - “...and he said: Pretentious, moi?”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The Pyramids, Newgrange, and ziplock bags
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The boxing scene from City Lights
Green Spot is a great whiskey. A nose of green apple, pear, vanilla, porridge and light new wood shavings. A creamy taste of cereal, shortbread and citrus rind with a medium finish of honey and ginger. A great, solid, spirit-lifting, pot still whiskey. One of the best. I’d give it 19 stars. Maybe more.

@SpartaTodd I admire your tenacity!
I like Green Spot but I have heard rumors it was better in the past due to more older stock. I found it a little young and harsh but very worthy. I don't know what I am missing here but will keep tasting again and again in a relentless attempt to find out.
@Rick_M that's a good price for it. Usually €250 here.
@1901 - missed my chance to buy the Barry Crockett at Shannon’s duty free for 178 Euro. Sorry I didn’t grab it along with the Dingle.
Gold medal winner in the category Best Irish Single Pot Still Whiskey at the Irish Whiskey Awards this week. Barry Crockett Legacy was the winner. Couldn't agree more!
@Richard-ModernDrinking yes, it's a low bar but I'm inclined to be generous when their guitar is tuned.
Interesting. Personally I’d rate the busker one star.
