Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still
Spot Whiskey // Ireland
Green Spot is a triple-distilled single pot still Irish whiskey produced at Midleton Distillery and made exclusively for Dublin wine merchant Mitchell & Son. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley—the hallmark of Ireland’s single pot still style—the brand traces its roots to the late 19th century when Mitchell & Son purchased casks of pot still whiskey and matured them in their own cellars.
Barrels were marked with dabs of colored paint to denote age, with the green spot historically indicating whiskey aged around 10 years, giving rise to the Spot Whiskey range. Today, Green Spot matures about 7–10 years in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks and is bottled in relatively small batches.

Tasting Notes
"The aroma is that of vanilla cream, toffee, and toasted cereal. The palate moves more into the fruit category with under ripe banana, red apples, and berries. As you continue to smell and taste, the whiskey opens up to show more sherried notes such as walnuts and orange peels. "
