Next to my "standard for Scotch" Laphroaig 10, this is not as good. Less peat. More brine. Odd mouth feel. Still good when in the right mood for it. Meat and salt are at the forefront. Not as good but costs more means I probably won't get another bottle. But hey, it was a gift and I'm not complaining.

Second taste. This is Highland Park 18 in reverse. Smooth at first, but burns to the finish. It's rather unpleasant in that order. Shocking as the burn catches in the back of the mouth and makes you pucker. Still some interesting complexity. Still not my favorite.
