Now that I've been drinking, buying, collecting, and tasting bourbon for a little while, I can't help but feel that Blanton's just underwhelms.
Yes, it is smooth. But so is watered-down bourbon of almost any kind. Which is not to say that Blanton's is watered down. Just that it tastes watered down.
I think Blanton's is pretty much one note. It is honey water. I wish it had more punch. I wish it had something that made it stand out

@BDanner yes. It definitely could be a change in palate. There was a substantial amount of time between my bottles since it is so hard to find. I know I like the BT profile, though. The EH Taylor BIB is one of my favorites.
@BDanner I remember liking this bottle much more, but I don't know if it just has gotten worse over time sitting half empty, or if my palate has changed that much. maybe I'll crack open a fresh one to see if it's better newly opened
I like this one more than you, but my first bottle was great, while my second definitely underwhelmed.
