Color: Deep amber with a hint of ginger.
Nose: Beautifully balanced with deep red apple almost as if it was in an orchard with the smell of wood. Vanilla and caramel, candied cherry, brown sugar, and a ton of oak and some spices, even some mocha or other coffee type smells after it has some time to air.
Taste: Thinner than the nose would have you believe. A bit bitter from the oak, a small amount of over oaked cherry, and a faint hint of an overripe red delicious apple. The sharp burn of cinnamon candy makes an appearance at the climax for a quick second and then retreats. Hints of a bitter black coffee as well on the finish. The finish lingers for quite a while after one has finished a sip.
Quite an incredible whiskey all around.
