At long last the Lag 16 is mine. Poured neat, the nose ....ok wait a minute, there is a lot going on here. This is a scotch that needs to be thoroughly explored. Smoke, menthol, malt, nougat, leather, bacon, sea salt mined from the Mediterranean sea or some exotic place, black grapes and more all await . You just have to dig, its worth it. This is an advanced scotch. Palate is so rich, succulent and enlightened it makes Lap 10 and Ard 10 seem like kindergarten. Smoke and malt sure, but its so much more. Its the smoke from the fires of Asgardian temples. The malt carries the weight of Mjölnir. There's sweet nougat, the highest quality smoked cured meats, the richest roasted coffee grounds with delicate sherry overtones and dark chocolate. Are you F...ing kidding me? BDanner calls out layers and he's spot on this keeps unfolding and morphing into intricate flavor nuances. This is for true lovers of peated scotch. If you are not fanatical about smoky whisky don't spend your money here as you will not see the value. If you are a real peathead there is no other experience that will equal this imo...........99/100 ......near perfection in this heavenly elixir

@Ctrexman Exactly, luckily I find Laphroaig QC pretty comparable but this is great for special occasions.
The problem with this is its so damn drinkable you gotta hold back lest you destroy your $90 bottle........Looking forward to your review
I’ve been drinking this the last few days and your review is spot on. This is my new favorite.
@Ctrexman how do you really feel? Of all the passionate reviews I’ve read on this one yours is the most impassioned. Enjoy your prize!
Yes I indulged a bit on this this review, Lag 16 will do that to you
@Ctrexman get off the fence and tell us what you really think! Great review. BTW I'm pretty sure Highland Park's lawyers are looking closely at your references to Nordic mythology as they clearly own all the rights to that.
@cretxman - sounds like you had a religious experience. :) Nice job!
Great review. I'm saving my first taste of Lag 16 for Christmas. Hope I enjoy it as much as you did.
