This had the misfortune of bring tasted in conjunction with the Ardbeg 19 which unfortunately smoked the pants off it. Also the memory of the awesome Red wine cask is still strong so in comparison to that it also fell short. So in summary tasted younger less richer or flavorful than either those two. I was too enamored with the Ardbeg to even bother seeking tasting descriptors. Might have been 4 on the day without the memory of the Red wine or being tried together with the Ardbeg...but 3.75 for me it is.

@PeatnSweet Much lighter more nuanced style of peat. The grooves from memory was full on oily soot, smoke, tar, Kilchoman on the whole is a much different style of peat
Wonder how this compares to Ardbeg Grooves, which is a favorite of mine?
@PBMichiganWolverine Yes I also now have a bottle of my and your 2nd favorite I believe the sauterne my third the 2019 Loch Gorm and my 4th and 5th Machir Bay and Sanaig. Kilchoman collection complete for now!
@Soba45 that was my favorite as well—-I had a sample courtesy of @Telex, and then immediately bought a bottle
@PBMichiganWolverine Yes the red wine cask was my favourite Kilchoman ever and I have an unopened bottle which one day it'll be great to crack open!
If you get the chance, next time have this one without the supervision from a powerhouse Ardbeg. Have you tried the Wine cask matured? That was better, in my opinion
