Aroma: cherries, chocolate, toffee, vanilla, raisin. Florescent, herbal, fruity, and spicy, but altogether fairly subtle.
Taste: Quite spicy. White pepper and cherries lead the palette, and the taste itself isn't as sweet as what the aroma may suggest. Other notes of salt, oak, and woody spices. Has a kick, but the other notes balance this bourbon finely.
Finish: Leather and oak smoothly finalize this bourbon, and leaves a tingly, spicy linger. Warm and not too overwhelming, just right.
While it may be somewhat deceiving, there are a multitude of different notes that have strong personalities but holistically compromise to what is probably bearable for most. In other words, it works out in the end.
