On the nose, there is a roadhouse peanut that surrounds sharp ethanol, light vanillas, a sweet caramel, candy corn, corn dust, and oak tannins. The taste has those tannins and dusty corn with the peanut butter, vanilla, and sour oakiness. This is a pretty good whiskey but there are a lot of 100 proof offerings on the market and compared to many other bourbons and ryes at the proof I find this one to be lacking. This lacks fruit notes and a complex sweetness that you can find in many other 100 proof offerings in the same price range.
