This is one of my first true Islay scotch’s and wow this was punch in the face. Super smoky and super peaty. Almost overtaking, but I can’t stop drinking it. Described to my fiance as “tastes like I’m eating a campfire”. I’ve got some light pear notes that become more prominent, not only in taste but also in smell. Intriguing and already growing on me only halfway through a glass. I’ll have to revisit this for sure.
