Love peated scotch and saw the high ratings/rankings. Available in 50ml at specs to try before $50 bottle so a couple i grabbed yes I did. My dram is 92.6 proof. Poured neat, noses honey smoke like the innards of a bees nest lit up. Malt, nougat and dusty cardboard. Soft and sweet with a little bit of wood. Palate is sweet malt and honey with rich smooth smoke and oak, wow is that tasty!!. Finishes with drying barrel and some fading malt and smoky honey. The peat is gentle with this scotch but provides some nice smoke accents for the flavors. Not a heavyweight like some other smokies yet very enjoyable. Would like to see it closer to $40 but still worth buying for rotation, its that good........91/100..........Im a sucker for that smoky honey taste. Another delicious peated scotch!

@CKarmios Lol no first review was off some sample bottles. These new comments are from new bottle (almost gone already)
"OK, so are you saying you’ve managed to keep a bottle of Ledaig going for a whole year? How many litres in that bottle? 😀"
Going through this bottle Im starting to get a lot of thick cut bacon throughout. Not the crispy cooked notes more the just opened slab going in the pan....this is good cause..bacon is awesome!
Interesting. I may have to give this another spin sometime to see has my tolerance changed.
@1901 yes looking at your comment I do get salt but its so integrated with the smoky honey malt it just adds a savory edge for me
Well my review was based off a couple 50mls ,I saw this on sale for $45 so pounced glad I did. This is all that and then some. IMO can hold its own against any Islay close in price. In fact its similar to PC10 in profile. My notes stand but the smoke comes in real nice after bottle is open. Delicious stuff any peated scotch lover should enjoy. Raising score to 4.25
Nice review and I notice you don’t mention salt once. My experience with this one was it was like licking Long John’s peg leg. Goes to show differences in taste as this was too salty and oaky for me. I hadn’t noticed that NC avatar until @pbmichiganwolverine pointed it out. I feel like I missed the gorilla in the basketball game! Goes to show the differences in attention.
@jonwilkinson7309 Thanks jw....who doesnt like the use of the word innards
lol i almost did reply that
@Ctrexman for a brief second, I thought you’d reply back “ I have a pic of NC, cause I am NC “
@PBMichiganWolverine well another site Im on everyone has either dogs,cars or celebs as icons so I went the celeb route. Ive been told I resemble NC so figured why not......plus I get to say things like "Put the bunny back in the box"
"Like the innards of a bee's nest lit up" is perhaps the best simile I've read lately. Nice review!
@PBMichiganWolverine. I probably should have noticed that a long time ago, but I did not.
In a totally unrelated note—-why do you have a picture of Nicolas Cage as the profile pic here—-a superfan I guess?
