Dewar's 18 Year The Vintage
Blended — Scotland

Letting this sit for 6 months in a 7/8th full bottle improved it immensely.
The turpentine and astringent notes from the first tasting are gone.
This is a subtle and delicate whiskey. The honey and floral notes on the nose are complemented now by some cereal grains, the palate is silky, oily and coating with malt and heather, the finish is long, smokey and warming.

I just tried a sip of the newer 'double double' 21 year and had similar gut feeling that it will need a little bit of time to sit and rest in the bottle before being at its best. nice review.
@cascode yeah—-they just did a 32 yr Double Double , which has got good reviews across the board
@PBMichiganWolverine Ooooo! I didn't know they even did a 32.
@PBMichiganWolverine can't wait to read your revIew
I just got their 32...which supposedly is really good.
@Ctrexman I think it was about$65 at Bevmo. I have seen it for much less elsewhere recently, $45-$50.
I was a bit dissapointed in the 15yr but I really like the 12 for the $$.. What did this 18 run you
