[Re-Review 08-17-16]. So, I used to hate on this brand. However with trying all sorts of whiskies over the years and returning to my Irish roots, for once I appreciate the lack of grassy ripe bananas and the abysmal cask influence. The spice has a mellow balance to the sweet maltiness that is often missed on you entry level malts. Either that or Im too happy drinking whiskey right now to know what I'm talking about!
