Amazing dram. Full of flavor, very complex, very versatile, quite the ride. Incredibly fruity on the nose, peaty on the palate. It is made using scotch whiskies (i believe from islay) and indian whisky from the amrut distillery.
Bottled at 50 abv, tawny color.
On the nose is beautiful. So fruity. Naranjilla, cough syrup, caramel, lime, citric aromas, hazelnut, hanuta snack, almonds.
On the palate it was totally different but great. Fire. Coal. Peat, ashes. It burns your lips. Aftertaste is sulphuric but not long, pleasant.
Overall this is an extraordinary dram. Absolutely recommended. 95 over 100.

@1901 yes, that is true for what i have seen in other amrut expressions. This one was written by me a long time ago.
@Ancient33w it is great, as most Amrut are
@cascode Amrut is one of my favorite distilleries. Fusion is the most classic of their expressions (at least for me it is) since you can find it easily. This one is a nice starting point on them. i fully recommend the intermediate sherry one
Oh, and btw I don’t think it is a blend of whiskey necessarily. I believe they make it using barley from both India and Scotland (lightly peated, so possibly Islay as you say)
Nice review. You say burn on the lips - i found it punchy too and, for me, i thought some water helped this one.
This is another whiskey that I have been wanting to try but I have not seen in SC.
I must investigate Amrut more thoroughly. The only tastes I've had have been at tasting events and festivals and I've never owned a bottle. I've liked what I've had but never really got into them. Would you recommend this as a starting point?
