If you aren't into Islay whiskeys then you won't like this. It's a peat powerhouse. I imagine most of the bad reviews are just that. Peat isn't for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that. Few drops of water really opens this up. Can smell the fire anywhere once a glass is poured and I highly recommend a glencairn glass to get the senses going. Beautiful campfire peat, sweet center, firm finish. Like being blanketed by a down sleeping bag on a cold trail.
