The nose has a wet-campfire character like the 10 year without the medicinal notes. As I acclimate to the impact of the peat, vanilla completely dominates the nose. Milk chocolate on the palate with subdued pepperiness and lemon if you really look for it. The finish is where this whisky shines. After an initial burst of barrel bitterness, flourishes of orange-peel and cocoa soon subside to semi-sweet vanilla latte.
