Fantastic nose! The sherry and peat combine into a fresh, bark-mulch scent. The taste is caramel, maraschino cherry and subtle oak. The peat comes through on the finish accompanied by black pepper and red apple skin. The main fault with this whisky is a bit of a metallic aftertaste. Overall, a good whisky, but the flavor is a tad muted.60.0 USD per Bottle

Ethanol on the nose is strong for the proof. I don't get "notes" from this whiskey, it just smells like corn, oak, and rye. Despite the "Double Oak," the taste is no more oaky than your typical bourbon. It's certainly smooth, but a touch too thin . The oak is substantial on the finish, but ice will kill it. The unmistakable Jim Beam peanut lingers for 5 to 10 seconds. This is a good whiskey, but you can find much better value out there.27.0 USD per Bottle

Bib & Tucker 6 Year Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed July 25, 2021 (edited October 26, 2021)The rye is very strong on the nose. You could convince me that this is a Wild Turkey product. The taste is everything I want in a bourbon. Corn-forward, vanilla, and astoundingly balanced oak. There's a bit a cashew on the finish followed by strong alcohol taste and lingering barrel bitterness.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Smells like a seaside bond-fire. Underneath the charred kelp, there are notes of lemon Pledge. The palate is surprisingly sweet. It's not overly complex, but I find it reminiscent of pork tenderloin. There are hints of lime in the taste, but it really comes through on the finish. The finish is long with the taste of semi-dark chocolate lingering for a few minutes.55.0 USD per Bottle

The alcohol is a bit sharp on the nose, but underneath is marzipan and banana pudding. The taste has a characteristic, nutty Beam profile, and it drinks less hot than it smells. I get sweet tea vibes from this one. The oak is subdued and flairs-up along side the rye on the finish. The finish is long for a whiskey of this caliber. The marzipan from the nose comes back, and a syrupy caramel lingers for a good 30 seconds to a full minute.25.0 USD per Bottle

Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon 100 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 16, 2021 (edited January 29, 2021)Maraschino cherry, brown sugar, and vanilla on the nose. It tastes strongly of caramel. If you're looking for smooth whiskey, look no further. The finish is pleasantly oaky, but underwhelming.20.0 USD per Bottle -
Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed January 1, 2021 (edited April 20, 2021)The nose is vanilla and corn sweet. I had to work to pick-out the rye, but once I found it I couldn't lose it. It all combines to give a subtly citrusy scent, perhaps orange-peel. This one stings a bit on the palate. The only tasting note I can pick out is artificial cherry. The finish starts nutty then immediately become barrel-bitter. The bitterness resolves to chocolate and eventually tobacco and peanut shells. This one will warm you up!50.0 USD per Bottle -
Speyburn 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 31, 2020 (edited January 28, 2021)Beautiful nose! Full of butterscotch and pears. A bit of malt funk keeps it interesting. The taste is sadly underwhelming, but you can also read that as, "This one is an easy sipper." For as delicate as the palate is, the finish is shockingly robust. A hint of butterscotch. Toffee and apple skin lingers for 15 - 20 seconds.30.0 USD per Bottle -
The nose is sweet and mildly earthy, somewhat like hay. This whisky has clearly spent some time in some sherry butts. The taste is reminiscent of Graham crackers and is followed by a marshmallow-oak finnish. A simple whisky that could benefit from a couple more years in the barrel.50.0 USD per Bottle
