Color: Golden Brown, just a few legs on the twirl - more watery than oily
Nose: Sherry bomb with a slightly nutty hint, Figs, Raisins, Strawberries, Cherries, Chocolate
Palate: Sweet watery mouthfeel with hints of the red fruit, Caramel, Toffee, Hazelnuts/Chestnuts
Finish: A hint of spices and red fruit that’s ultimately eclipsed by the nutty note from the nose and palate. A wonderful medium finish.
Overall: Maybe I went in with high expectations, but I’m absolutely in love with this whisky from the first pour. The transition from sweet to nutty makes for a wonderful journey that I can’t wait to take again.

@BDanner Excited to see what you think! Really enjoying mine - the 15’s next!
Picked this up today...looking forward to trying it.
@DigitalCork Excited to try it either way. Do agree 46% is a sweet spot!
@RLDN106 I'm afraid I've never tried the original. When I tasted the current release for the first time, (when I was a less experienced scotch drinker) it was a bit overpowering for me. The 46% ABV delivered a depth of character that took a while to get used to. Nowadays, that sort of ABV is my sweet spot. 40%ers feel a tad light (but I just tell myself they're refreshing).
@DigitalCork Definitely interested in trying both. What’re your thoughts on Bunna’s new bottling of the 12? Think they pushed it from 40 to 46% ABV
@RLDN106 If you're a sherryhead, you should also try a couple of other 12's like the Dalmore and Bunnahabhain. @Ctrexman I'm of like-mind when you write that this is the best sherried 12.
@Ctrexman That’s at the top of my list - sounds wonderful
Great review.... this is gateway to the 15.....
