Macallan Classic Cut (2018 Release)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland

Strong oak initially on the nose which disipates to reveal nutty sherry, rich sherry on the palate, spicy long finish. Kinda one note, but each sip gets better than the last.

@dhsilv2 it makes sense—I’d have imagined the 17 better than the 18. The previous years seemed to have been better quality casks for Macallan
@PBMichiganWolverine interesting, only had a small taste of the 19 and to be honest my mouth/pallet hasn't been in the right place for a CS sherry NAS sherry bomb. But the 18 was good but a huge drop from the 17. I was hoping the 19 would bring back the quality but to be honest had I not gotten the 19 for 80 which feels like an error in pricing, I'd have not risked it.
@dhsilv2 will be curious to see your take on it. I liked the 18, but the 19 fell short
I'll be doing a 2019 review soon, debating doing a side by side with 18 and 17 but I'm nearly out of 18.
