Moving up the Walker ladder to the Green. Love there is no grain and 86pf. Poured neat, nose is refined malt with apple skins, wispy smoke and dusty birchwood. Maybe a little white grape and melon. Velvety mouthfeel brings palate of ripe golden delicious apples, clover honey, smooth malt and gentle smoke with some grassy peat. The barrel notes are joined by sea salt brine to balance the sweetness. Its designed to flow together and it does very well. Extremely tasty with full flavor. The finish is malt and salt with smoke supported by fading fruit and drying barrel oak. There is some spice that accumulates as you go through the pour but again it just blends into the overall package. Single malts can be spikey in their flavor delivery but this is built to be an easy enjoyable ride with the rich notes blurring together to form a cohesive impression. It works wonderfully in this fashion and most will love this scotch......92/100..... I do love it but have to say the bold diversity of SM when you get a truly great one is more rewarding. JW Green has plenty of stuff to pick out and ponder but is better suited to just drink it and flat out enjoy. Great bottle for a gift with wide appeal and tremendous drinkability

Nice review. This is my favorite Johnnie Walker expression. Yes, the Blue Label is very nice, but it’s just too expensive for what what you get. Green offers such complexity for a quarter of the price.
Great review! Been meaning to get this for a while
@jonwilkinson7309 If you're like me, you won't be disappointed. @Ctrexman 's review convinced me to give it a try and I was very happy that I did.
@jonwilkinson7309 thank you! Very excited for the next step in this journey.
@Ctrexman. You've convinced me to pick up a bottle of this. It seems to be widely available all of a sudden.
@RLDN106 Congrats, and best of luck! I'm a number of years removed from law school. It was a lot of work, but I have good memories of it.
@BDanner ouch Lap 10is still low 40s here for now and a great bargain. JWGreen is not smoky like Islay its fruity and balanced...just real nice. My bottle is almost gone but this is one I will buy again
@Ctrexman Thanks! It was right there at the end of your review. Don't know how I missed it. I think I may pick up a bottle to try as I've watched my Laphroaig prices jump almost $20 this week thanks to tariffs. Lap10 is now $70 here.
@BDanner yeah I paid $60.........well done RL
@Soba45 thanks! Excited to cap it off with some Johnnie Green next week.
@RLDN106 Congrats!
@Jan-Kaselitz @DigitalCork @BDanner Thanks guys, happy to be a part of this whiskyphile community!
@RLDN106 Congrats! I have a couple of cousins who are lawyers (unfortunately they don't drink whiskey!) Yup, you're in for a treat - those labels are excellent.
@RLDN106 yeah, congratulations man. That is awesome.
@RLDN106 congrats!
@BDanner very true! I got into Law School, so I’ve been in a bit of a “treat myself” phase :D
@Ctrexman I almost picked this up for $60 the other day. What did you pay if you don't mind me asking.
@RLDN106 I always say that I don't have a drinking problem, I have a buying problem.
Very excited to try this! It’s arriving next week, along with a bottle of Talisker Distiller’s Edition and Woodford Double Oaked. I told myself this is the last purchase for awhile (but that’s what I said last time!)
Yeah it was quite a nice dram. They did a very good job of the Brora and Port Ellen blue. I thought they'd teaspoon it i.e. throw a drop in and legally meet the threshold but no they did the best versions i've had!
