Tasting glass: Tumbler
Tasting temperature: 4°C/39.2°F
Nose: Chocolate, toffee and milk
Palate: Milk chocolate with tones of vanilla, cream and sweet honey. In the background a malty taste with a light salty maritime note that shines through more the longer it rests and warms up on my tongue.
Finish: Short to medium finish. The taste takes a turn for a darker kind of chocolate, but is still sweet.
Conclusion: I really liked this cream liqueur. It is such a cut above your standard Baileys and really shows the magnificent flavors whisky can add when mixed with other ingredients. Would definitely buy again, at this price point everybody who likes whisky, Arran and chocolate should keep a bottle of this stuff in their fridge. The taste does Arran justice, not really a complex taste but one you want to enjoy on a hot summer night for days on end.
