Dry with lots of juniper and a spicy burn that leads to a finish including Sichuan peppercorns. There's a bit of lemon in here too. There is some sweetness, but not much. The flavor is clean, with some alcohol elements, but no overwhelming characteristics. It's passable, but I'd stick to using it for mixer mixing. It lacks the interesting botanicals like thyme and anise present in The Botanist. In avoiding those flavors, it misses out on some great depth, but also keeps a cleanness to it. Its in-your-face nature lacks the complexity of St. George Rye. Somewhat like The Botanist, but less interesting. There's a bit much alcohol, but the flavor is otherwise clean. It has less depth than Tanqueray, but also doesn't get right up in your face. The in-your-face flavor helps give this character, but it doesn't compensate for the strong alcohol presence. This is not as good as The Botanist, unfortunately. Its bitter finish is a bit displeasing. There isn't a ton going on here but there is a full flavor with some hints of sweetness at the fore. It isn't really sippable, but it's fine for mixing. This sure has that traditional London dry gin flavor with lots of juniper, but also a nice balance of other botanicals. It has nice balance, though the juniper does accentuate the alcohol. The juniper gradually fades, leaving it with more balance.
