Monkey Shoulder is a great budget favorite, but has recently grown in reputation and is getting more expensive. It's all dried fruit, butterscotch, and light peat on the nose. The palate is surprisingly complex with dried tropical fruit mix that develops into butterscotch and smoke. The finish is light and short but very pleasant in its sweet smokey feel. This blend is a great cabinet scotch to keep around and one of the #1 whiskys to introduce newbies to smoke and peat.
